Ever felt directionless?
The fact that each of us is so unique—from our fingerprints and facial structure to the way we talk, walk, and even how we see the world—points to you being created with specific talents and purposes.
But we all feel it, from time to time… this questioning about why we are here and where are we going. I’ve felt it too.
So, what do you do?
We’re all searching for something to anchor into, whether consciously or subconsciously. Your convictions about who you are and where you came from drives how you live. Having an anchor for our identity is important because it sets the context for pretty much everything in our lives.
Explore what many call the 5 Es… things that you’re enthusiastic about, come easy to you, provide enjoyment, give energy, and generally result in excellence. There are online assessments that can help. My favorite is Gallup’s CliftonStrengths. Others include High 5 and the VIA Survey.
We all have hurts, some of our own doing and some caused by others. How we process those hurts are important indicators of our overall well-being. In addition, we all have core needs. How we seek to meet those needs and whether they are actually met will also play into our ability to live our purpose.
Want to spread some encouragement in your family, group of friends, or team? Schedule a virtual or in-person session with me! In as little as two hours, you and your group will:
—better understand what makes each person unique,
—learn a common language for discussing the highs and lows of each day,
—and develop strategies to be more engaged and more productive to reach your goals.
I enjoyed learning about the strengths of the team for a better understanding of how we fit into our roles and how we work together. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my strengths with the team to feel more understood.
MelindaTeam Session (In-person, 2019)
How can this workshop be improved? Nothing. It was great!
JenniferTeam Session (Virtual, April 2021)
I absolutely loved the session. I honestly would love to continue!
ElisaTeam Session (Virtual, April 2021)
The personal deep dive was great because I got to know why I am the way I am. That leading into a team time was valuable to understand that I am important to other people as well.
NoahTeam Sessions (In-person, May 2021)
The most valuable aspect of this workshop was finding out what my strengths mean and how I can better apply them in my life and career. What aspects were least valuable? None!
SageTeam Sessions (Virtual, 2020)
Wendy, this was fantastic. You are a gifted facilitator. I would love to work with you again!
JenaTeam Session (Virtual, June 2021)
I really enjoyed learning about how strengths work together to create a well rounded team and learning more about my teammates, especially being a new member of this team.
LindseyTeam Session (Virtual, 2021)
The first half was familiar because I have taken a workshop before. But the second half—Core Needs, SLATHY, Balconies, Basements—was all new and extremely helpful!
RogerTeam Sessions (Virtual, 2020)
We really enjoyed it and it was very well done! Having honest conversations about where there are struggles or differentiation as a team was super helpful and we will have you back when we add to the team!
SamTeam Sessions (In-person, May 2021)
Joining this company/team during a pandemic in a virtual world made it hard to build connections and understand people. This exercise has taken down any walls I may have felt about others on my team and I have a better understanding of them.
GloriaTeam Session (Virtual, March 2021)
Listening to my team engage and understand the importance of the strengths discipline has been so valuable.
JackieTeam Sessions (Virtual, 2020-2021)
While the information was immediately engaging and practical, I am realizing days out just how profoundly helpful this material will be for years to come. Wendy stirred up needed conversation by providing tools and shared language to better understand our diverse team.
AimeeTeam Session (October 2021)
This was a great experience! Thanks for facilitating! What was most valuable was understanding how the negative words [sometimes associated with my strengths] are not defining for me.
DorranceTeam Sessions [2020, 2021]
Want to learn more about your own strengths, and how they are impacted by your needs and hurts? Schedule a session to talk about it. Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes via Zoom or a phone call and can happen once, twice, or regularly, depending on your goals. And to make sure it’s a good fit for both of us, your first 30-minute conversation is free!
Not sure if strengths encouragement is right for you? Your first 30-minute conversation is always free and carries absolutely no obligation. I want this to be a positive experience for both of us, so let’s chat to see if it feels like a good fit.
